Snow Day!

Now if you're from the north this might be a daily thing throughout the winter. But if you're from the south like I am, snow is not common. It's when everything in town shuts down and everyone enjoys the 2-3in of snow. I've only been able to enjoy a good amount of snow like this twice in the past 4 years I've been living in North Carolina. So you bet the hubs and I were outside enjoying it as much as we could.

Little man wasn't outside for more than 5 minutes. We just let him look around and enjoy and brought him back into the warmth. 20 degrees is no weather for a baby. He did enjoy it but seemed to be blinded by how bright it looked. Everything looks new to him, I just love how new he is to everything. Shows you a completely different outlook in life.

Surprisingly Belle was loving the snow. Running around for almost an hour trying to eat the snow and catching the snow balls. The cold didn't seem to bother them in the least. They dug up, trotted and jumped.
^^Mid snowball making.

It was such a perfect family day! We love it when it snows and we don't take it for granted. We are hoping it sticks around for just a little bit longer.
Does it snow where you live?
What did you do on your snow day?

Spring Time Bedroom Revamp.

I've just redone my bedroom not too long ago. But since the move is coming soon I figured it would be nice to start over with some bright catchy colors. I love how bright it is, perfect for taking pictures, and some bold colors for pop.

Especially after Christmas time I get the immense feeling of wanting to do some spring cleaning and spring decorating. It's the time of year when everything red and green and wintery goes away. It's welcoming the warmth into the home.

Unfortunately for me I'm within a couple months of a big move and I can't take my time to paint and redecorate a lot. Minor changes and getting those bold pieces would be essential for me to do at this moment. I have so much to do as it is yet I still want to make some changes to brighten up this home.

Aside from my bedroom I'd like to add a few things to Jaxons nursery and finish the livingroom. I left my couches mid way done. Ah so much. I need to finish what I started... I just get so excited! I don't have a coffee table or lamps, that would be something nice to add to make it look more like a livingroom.

Enough about that for now... Here I have my inspiration for my bedroom!

Colors: White, black, pink & gold.

My furniture in my bedroom is dark, I've been wanting to change it white and get a white tufted headboard for my bed.

find: Michaels
Gold sun burst mirror to go above the bed. Simplistic and beautiful.

White bedding with a beautiful shiny moroccan blanket at the end for some sparkle.

                                    find                                                                          find

Black, gold and pink accent pillows to pop out with the white background. Texture is important, the ruffles add a little something. A monogram! What better way to personalize your style in your bedroom?

Lights! They brighten things up so nicely without them looking Christmasy. These are dainty and just look like beautiful stars. Covering a leaner mirror in a corner. Beautiful!

This is a diy I have planned for my current white curtains. They match the bedroom style and still keeps it bright.

Details. Detail. Details. Perfect way to display your favorite books along side with flowers to bring in that spring feeling. Even a moroccan pouf by the side of the bed in gold would become part of this beautiful bedroom.

I can't wait to get started on buying these colors!
It sure makes it look like springtime doesn't it?
What are you re doing for your spring cleaning?

Jax: 2 Months Old

I haven't been consistent putting these up, but at least I'm writting out all my thoughts so I can remember all the details.
My little boy is two months old! Just comparing his images from the month before is such a huge difference!

Weight: 12lbs and 9oz. 23 1/2in.
Eating: He began doing 90% formula unfortunately. It might've been the flying or the stress that caused my breast milk to slowly stop but as long as he's getting the nutrients he needs now, I'm glad I was able to nurse for so long. Some moms are just meant to be for breast feeding, turns out I'm not one of them. Aside from that he eats so well and is getting a little bit of chunkiness and even the cutest double chin!

Sleep: Jax will nap more in his crib but still mostly sleeps next to me on the bed. He sleeps for the entire night though, every night! Around 11pm-12am till about 10am. Occasionally he will wake up at 5am-6am hungry, so I'll feed him, burp him and as I'm burping him, he passes right out on my arms.  I am so glad to say he's not the one keeping me up, the one to blame is my insomnia (anybody dealt with this after having your baby?).

He only stayed up real late when we were in Florida because he had slept the entire day that we were delayed at the airport, so by the time we arrived (at 3am if I may add) I was ready for bed and he was just waking up. Now that we are back home his schedule has fixed itself up again. Now I'm just working on fixing mine...

During the day his naps last for about an hour to two. Depending on where he is, if he's on his swing they last longer and that allows me to cook or clean or just relax and be free to use my hands to do anything!

Clothing: Little man finally fits in 0-3m. He started out fitting in it but having it look loose, to now finally looking like it fits! I had to start putting away all his newborn clothes! Actually saving it just in case my sister gives me a nephew sometime in the near future...cough cough...

Shoes wise he only really fits in his 0-6weeks Vans. The other "0-3m" shoes look gianormous on his tiny little feet. I almost can't wait till they fit and at the same time I feel like I haven't been able to put him in quite every outfit yet! Please stop growing!

Mood: Still he is such a relaxed and good baby. He's so calm it's crazy, unless it's time to go to bed... He lays there making cooing sounds and kicking away. He's so observative, doesn't really just cry out of nowhere. He does fuss every now and then, he's no perfect baby but you gotta make sure everything has been checked, food, diaper or gas. He always has a reason. He still falls asleep in car rides or anywhere we take him. He enjoys to lay and on tummy time. He just works so hard at it and he's getting so much better, his head is slowly starting to not waddle so much.
  • His pacifier. He just has the need to suck while he's trying to fall asleep. He just can't sleep without it.
  • Timmy time! Specially on the bed, he will push himself up and follow the colors of the tv or listen to his rockabye baby lullabies.
  • Me! I know this probably sounds ridiculous but he knew me by voice since he was born, but now it's so much more than that. He could be asleep and if he hears me from far away he will wake up. He flashes me smiles after he's been crying and he's finally with me. This makes me feel so good and warm inside. He makes my heart grow.
  • Mornings. Surprisingly enough because neither his daddy or I am. I don't know if it's the diaper change and the feedings but he just wakes up and is so happy. Giving you non stop smiles again and again.
Doesn’t Love:
  • When his pacifier falls out. He will scream bloody murder and try to rip his hair out or something. He just freaks out. You gotta hold it or this will continue itself over and over again.
I'm thankful he doesn't hate many things, yet that is.

What I Want to Remember:
  • The way he does a half smirk when he's beginning to flash a smile. Then turning into a full smile and just seeing those cute little dimples pop up!
  •  The way he sleeps when he's not swaddled. His arms up by his head in this nonchalant  position. Like he's tanning at the beach or something.
  • Discovering his hands making the cutest smack noises when he's trying to fall asleep by sucking on his hands. He does this as he looks around the room. Just looking so sweet and innocent.

Nicknames: Joe would come up with the new nickname of ... Poops McGee. Other than the new one we still call him little man, lil monster, baby boy, fat boy, and fussy man. Who knows what we come up with when we talk to a baby. If only other people would hear us.. They'd think we have lost it.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Seeing his personality come out more. We can't wait to be back in Florida in February for some birthdays with the family. If we can make it, also being back at work so I can go back to shopping for this little man. Oh! And taking him on his first beach trip!

2014 New Year Resolutions

Another year gone by, it's amazing how fast it goes. This year there wasn't many resolutions I wanted to accomplished aside from the ones that really matter. Nothing materialistic mainly things that will make me feel good and happy inside. This year I want to work on improving myself and my surroundings. Here are my goals for 2014:

- Make time for a workout. Whether it's going to the gym or working out at home for at least 25minutes a day, I will workout. Main goal to lose those stubborn 25lbs and abs would be great... Just saying.

- Travel throughout Europe. At least one new location once a month. Moving away might be hard but I will make the best of it along with some beautiful memories.

- Get organized. Not just organized but I want to throw away and give away anything I don't use or need. I need to watch Hoarders (what else would put you in a cleaning mood, am I right?) and give myself the time to sit down and actually clean up.

- Cut down on the cursing. If you know me, you know I have absolutely no filter. I'm lucky for now that Jax can't talk but pretty soon we will understand and pick up on it. My goal is for me to cut down on it because... Let's be real.. Cutting it out completely is nearly impossible.

- Grow up as a mother. I'm still new to all this, I just want to be able to do everything I can to improve myself as a mom. Teach Jax everything I can and provide him with everything that he needs. Give him all my time and attention.

- Avoid technology. Aside from my every now and then blogging and picture taking I want to be able to go out to dinner or anywhere and leave the phone away. It's hard to avoid but it CAN be avoided. Focus on the moment.

- Meet new people. Being part of the military it allows us to meet so many people from so many places. I would like to allow myself the time to go out with them, get to know them. Making new friends not just for myself but for Jax too.

- Save! I want to save as much as possibly. I am determined to buy a house by the time we return to the states. We have plenty of time to save while we're away. I'm actually taking charge of all the bills this year. I'm organizing myself and our family.

This year I just want to go on more adventures.
Be around good energy.
Connect with people.
Learn new things.
Overall grow.

Afterlife & A Loss For Words

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear.
"It's me, I haven't left you...I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you that I am not lying there.

I walked with you toward the house, as you fumbled for your key,
I gently put my paw on you. I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over...I smile and watch you yawning
And say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we will stand, side-by-side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.

Goodbye: My Favorite Moments of 2013

2013 was by far my most exciting year yet. I always had something to look forward to.

As every year goes, we start our new year celebrating our anniversary.

Joes birthday is right around the corner in January and every year I dedicate myself on making his most perfected cake. Something that he loves and that will wow him. I try to out do myself each time.

Along came Lola! I just saw her and fell in love!

To our big surprise we then found out we were expecting a baby!

I was able to help a friend out as a photographer at a wedding, this was huge for me because I was able to really breakout more and show what I can do. Also gave me more of a bigger reason to improve my photography skills.

Only having one car big enough for a baby, we had to let go of the sports car and upgrade to a four door.

After waiting a few months (just to be safe) we finally announced the pregnancy to friends.(family already was the first to know)

I was able to throw a reveal party with our family! I enjoyed sharing the moment of finding out the baby's gender with everyone.

And it was of course our little boy!

We went to see one of the bands I have been dying to go see! Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls. It was so much fun to have this date night with the hubs. I couldn't have asked for a better night. Little man enjoyed it inside too.

We then got the second biggest news that would add more change to our lives... We were moving to the UK, England!

Being such an amature photographer I knew that I wanted to photograph every detail of any moment. Specially my pregnancy! I want to look back and remember it all. We had our maternity shoot in Florida beaches. Pure bliss!

My baby shower came along and I was so blessed to have been with all my friends and family. Everyone got our little boy everything and more that he needed. Little Monster baby shower!

As we tried to leave florida I knew that with all the wonderful things that have happened this year, some bad were bound to. Starting with the accident on my car. Pushed us back a few days...

After the car incident I then understood why God had different plans for me to stay. The worst moment for me was losing my first baby boy Charlie. I was just blessed to be there when he passed.

Finally arriving home we were able to put our baby boys nursery together! It was only a matter of time!

As time was creeping up we went on what we consider our last date as only a family of 2(not counting our girls on this).

At 40 weeks and 3 days(he cooked all the way) our beautiful handsome baby boy made his appearance! Changing our lives forever and showing us a different way of seeing life.

Thanksgiving rolled around and with having a two week old you wouldn't think I'd be able to pull off having a dinner, but not only did I pull it off, it was my first thanksgiving dinner that I cooked entirely on my own! Even got to enjoy a glass of wine, first one after more than 10 months.

My favorite holiday season had begun, the best part of every year! We got to see our family once again this year! Nothing I love more than spending time with them. Jaxons first Christmas and he was able to be with family!

Finally the way every year ends and begins. New Years! Also my anniversary. First one I wasn't able to spend with my love due to his job. But I was able to ring it in with my best friend and my baby boy!

This year was the biggest life changing year, and I'm sure the next will bring much more.
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!
